Ice Storm

Here are a few pictures from our recent Ice storm that knocked out the power for hundreds of thousands of people in the area. Luckily my power only went out for a few 30 minute intervals while they were repairing the lines. There are trees and power lines down everywhere and the schools in the area were closed for 1.5 -2 weeks becasuse they didn't have power either. Of course there were no days off for me and I had the enjoyment of navigating around all of the accidents and spun-out vehicles on the roads and interstates to get to work every morning. My 15 min commute averaged about 45 min. It did make the area very beautiful but this poor state declared a national state of emergency because they could not handle the conditions.
